Here are the commands used to generate the files with date stamp 141229. This
was done from tag clm4_5_1_r102. These are the files:

landuse.timeseries_10x15_mp24_hist_simyr1850-2005_c141229.nc
landuse.timeseries_1x1_smallvilleIA_mp24_hist_simyr1850-1855_c141229.nc

These were the commands:

mksurfdata.pl -crop -glc_nec 10 -y 1850-2000 -r 10x15
mksurfdata.pl -crop -y 1850-2000 -r 1x1_smallvilleIA -pft_idx 13 -pft_frc 100 -dynpft single_point_dynpft_files/landuse_timeseries_smallvilleIA_hist_simyr1850-1855.txt

YYMMDD=141229
mv landuse.timeseries_10x15_hist_simyr1850-2005_c${YYMMDD}.nc landuse.timeseries_10x15_mp24_hist_simyr1850-2005_c${YYMMDD}.nc
mv landuse.timeseries_1x1_smallvilleIA_hist_simyr1850-2005_c${YYMMDD}.nc landuse.timeseries_1x1_smallvilleIA_mp24_hist_simyr1850-1855_c${YYMMDD}.nc


Note that the transient f10 file does *not* use -hirespft, in contrast to the
year-2000 file (it does not appear to work to use hirespft for a transient
dataset).
